Routeways Devonport Park Activity Centre is a natural environment in the heart of the City providing fun inclusive activities enabling all children to play safely and be themselves Supported by local partners.
Routeways Devonport Park Activity Centre delivers a range of fun, challenging activities for families, children and young people with a range of abilities specialising in Autism, ADHD and/or mental health. We offer access to a natural environment in the heart of the City with a variety of activities including horticulture, outdoor education, creative play, music, cooking and personal development. The project is supported by a range of local partners.
Activities:
*Growing Together offering vocational opportunities to learn and improve their skills in cooking, gardening, woodwork, computers, personal development and other social activities for young people with a disability aged 16 – 24. Wednesday 10-1 and Friday 12.30-4.30 £5 per session MUST BE BOOKED at https://bookwhen.com/routeways
*Youth Club offering trips out, social opportunities, on-site activities (movie nights, games night, disco, recycled fashion shows, pamper sessions) for young people with a disability aged 14 – 24. Thursday 7 – 9 – (alternate weeks at the Beckly Centre and Devonport Park Activity Centre) £3 per session MUST BE BOOKED at https://bookwhen.com/routeways
*In Other Words offering mental health-related support with fun activities and ongoing development opportunities for young people over 14 years. The group helps build confidence, self-esteem and belief in a non-judgemental, confidential, safe and non-clinical environment. 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month 4-7 MUST BE BOOKED at https://bookwhen.com/routeways
*Children’s Minds – Families Matter is a free parent participation project focussed on children and young people’s mental health led by Routeways, supported by Plymouth Parent Carer Voice. The group is attended by James Cook from the Child Development Centre and Ruth Houghton, CAMHS Community Team Leader. Routeways staff run fun activities for the young people in a separate space allowing parents/carers the opportunity to share their experiences and voice their concerns in a relaxed supportive environment on the 2nd Saturday of every month 2-4 MUST BE BOOKED at https://bookwhen.com/routeways
*Rooted Club offering opportunities to get involved in cooking, gardening, crafts and other social activities for young people with a disability aged 8 – 13 Saturdays 10-1 £5 per child MUST BE BOOKED at https://bookwhen.com/routeways
*Little Seeds offering friendly, inclusive stay and play gardening activities and more for all under 5’s and their family/ carer Friday 11.30-1.30 £2 per family **Please note that from 1st November this will increase to £3 per family**
*Volunteers offering opportunities to people over 18 years old to get involved in a community project helping with various jobs in the gardens and buildings. Tea, coffee and biscuits provided! Wednesday 10-1
Devonport Park Activity Centre provides a whole range of inclusive, accessible opportunities to families and individuals. Offering support to children, young people and their parents and carers. The sessions are family-friendly and fun, affordable and accessible offering a wide variety of opportunities. The sessions are run by wonderful staff and volunteers who are both qualified and experienced in a range of areas.
